Tangihanga
MEANING: My understanding of a tangihanga is when someone passes away. To set everything up e.g (marae, wharekai etc).

Kawemate
MEANING: My understanding of a Kawe Mate is something similar to a powhiri. Whanau brings back ashes or photo of the loved one who passed for other whanau who missed the tangi.

Why?

Because Whaea Dawnette Passed Away.

For whaea Dawnette, matua Sam and their whanau.

When?
|
2 Weeks Ago on the weekend 19th August til Wednesday 22nd
|
Today on Monday 4th September at Tautoro School.
|
How?
|
Sad because whaea Dawnette Passed away.
|
Weird because it was my first time experiencing a kawemate.
|
Where?
|
At the marae in Awarua and in Whangarei.
|
At Tautoro School.
